Day 12. Friday, January 19. WHO IS YOUR CAPTAIN?

Matthew 8.23–27 - 23 He entered the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 And there was a storm so great that the waves covered the boat; But he slept. 25 His disciples came and woke him up, saying, "Lord, save us, we perish!" 26 He said to them, "Why do you fear, men of little faith?" Then, rising, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and a great calm ensued. 27 The amazed men said: "What man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?"
I was remembering my childhood a little when I was in my town the place where I was born, where I grew up, so many memories that remained in my mind. I remember when the rain flooded the streets and soon my imagination began to work. Something I loved to do was be able to quickly run down a sheet of paper and start folding it so that I could make a little boat with my friends. He finished making the boat and released it in the water and thus watched as the water carried it until it was lost in the street, and ran once more to stop it and be able to release it once more and so on.
There were times when the paper boat which he had made, in fact did not advance much and fell apart very quickly. That meant that the little boat had not done well, or even worse sometimes when released it simply crashed on a stone and instantly fell apart.
Thinking a little about all this, an immense joy came to me and I laughed out loud and I told myself it was a paper ship and nobody was driving it. It didn't have a captain, only the water carried it where the current went.
This passage we have here reminded me of the same story of my childhood and my paper boats only in this case if there was a captain and that captain was Jesus. And although apparently He slept while the disciples were filled with fear they should have been confident that they would reach the other side without any problem as at the end of the passage he shows us.
It was impossible for me not to compare all this with my life, with my family and I realized that we as a family have our own boat which we have great bonanza but also many times we have many storms. Actually that does not matter, the important thing of all this is to know and understand that neither I nor my family carry the helm of this ship but it is Jesus Christ our captain. I know that if He is our captain and He is He, who is at the helm of our ship, we will be sure that he will bring us to fruition.
I invite you to release the rudder of your little boat (of your life) and that you can deliver it to the captain of captains JESUS CHRIST who will take you to a safe harbor.
