Day 2. Tuesday, January 7th.

“Discovering Wisdom.”

Pastor Tony Sanchez

Bible Focus:

Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom…

Introduction:

I think everyone at one point or another has dreamed about finding a treasure. Whether your imagination has been inspired by an “Indiana Jones” movie, a “National Geographic” documentary about the tomb of Tutankhamun or the story of your uncle, who says that there are gold doubloons under your grandmother’s house. Everyone and i mean everyone would love to find something of great value. So just Imagine discovering a treasure… that would completely change your life!

Reflection:

The wisdom of God is this great treasure God has for you.

The great King Solomon chose wisdom and discernment when God asked him in a dream what he needed most. God granted him that discernment, that wisdom, and declared him the wisest man of all time. This same man wrote today’s proverb. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom…”

How can we discover wisdom? I want to tell you that you don’t need to be an archaeologist, and it is not found by digging underground.. but by looking up at heaven.

The fear of God is not just about intellectual knowledge, but about a discernment centered on God that guides our actions, thoughts and decisions. This fear does not distance us from God, but rather brings us closer in wonder and reverence. When we submit to His authority, we position ourselves to discover His wisdom, which directs our paths and gives us peace even in the midst of uncertainty.

Let me explain this to you simply, the fear of God is to say, I don’t know… but He does!

If we are guided by His word and spirit, we will make decisions that bless our society, our family, our finances, our health and most importantly, our eternity, our salvation.

Now that.. is one great treasure!

Prayer:

“God, I want your hand over my  life, I need your wisdom, your discernment. I ask that your mercy come into my life. If in my life I have made decisions that have led me to sin and cause pain in others and in your heart, forgive me. Straighten my paths, strengthen my hands, and fill my life with wisdom. Help me to walk in Your truth, making decisions that bring glory to Your name. Thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

May Your wisdom transform my heart and my actions. In Jesus' name, Amen.
